If you are in Montreal and looking for good cafes to work out of, you've come to the right place!
The list below includes my 7 highlights from a month working there. There are so many others I didn't have the chance to try, so if you find any gems, please include them in the comments. I'll check them out when I am in Montreal next!
- Ambiance: Bright and vibrant, lots of people work from there. I suggest getting in early to ensure you get a spot.
- Coffee/food: Coffee is awesome plus they give you a little cake when you order. They have cakes, sandwiches, some healthy snacks... enough to be fed all day! You can also buy a coffee or soup for someone in need - they keep track of these on a board so community members can stop in and get a coffee or meal.
- Wi-Fi: Excellent
- Ambiance: Feels a little like an art gallery! They have larger, spacious tables. It has a very airy and clean vibe. Great spot to check-out if you have meetings as you can usually get a table near the back and take calls without a problem.
- Coffee/food: Coffee is great, menu is more limited. They have some baked goods to choose from.
- Wi-Fi: Excellent.
- Ambiance: This spot is super quirky! Lots of mixed furniture inside, and if it isn't too hot, a very colourful terrace with tables and bar seating to work from. Many people set up to work there.
- Coffee/food: They make awesome iced teas (their coffee is great too) and they bake cakes daily. Their bagels are also fantastic - they use St Viateur bagels and plenty of smoked salmon.
- Wi-Fi: Excellent and still quite good on the terrace!
- Ambiance: You'll feel like you've walked into a place for kids, except for all the laptops! This café is set up as a circle, with tons of space to work out of. They also have booths and unique nooks to set up for the day. The service is fantastic and they are very used to people working from there a whole day! AC is also wonderful on a hot day.
- Coffee/food: I loved their ice coffee, never tried the food.
- Wi-Fi: Excellent.
- Ambiance: Although not a spacious space to work from (only 3 stools on a bar) it is my absolute favourite bakery. I often bought a baked good, a coffee and did a walk and talk at La Fontaine Parc, which is just a few blocks away.
- Coffee/food: Their iced coffee is amazing and a very generous size. Now, the baked goods... I don't think I have words to describe. Their plie au chocolat et pacanes is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Highly recommend.
- Wi-Fi: Honestly didn't test it. I used it as my starting point for walk and talks.
- Ambiance: Inside feels like a cross between a fairy tale and your grandma's home. They have very cute décor and lovely plates and cups if you get your order to stay in! The place is very busy though so I'd recommend it more for heads down space as opposed to meetings if you like white noise.
- Coffee/food: There is enough to keep you fed all day! Great baked goods, wraps, salads, plus even some items to take away and a freezer with frozen treats.
- Wi-Fi: Excellent, even for video calls when it was super busy.
- Ambiance: This one was recommended to me so much, I had to check it out. It made the list as it is truly unique -- an old bank, turned into a café + co-work. They preserved quite a bit of the original fa?ade and it feels a bit surreal to sit there to work. That said, note that it is very busy and the lighting is on the darker side! They have booths you can rent for $15/hr or you can also get a monthly membership to their co-work.
- Coffee/food: A very robust menu! If you are looking to do a virtual lunch or meet someone in person, this could be a cool spot if you plan on sitting and working together.
- Wi-Fi: Excellent.
They look lovely! And great tips for anyone visiting Montreal!
You belong at the table - let's fix that!

2 年Crew Collective is amazing! Big fan of Parallel 49 as well in the Old Port. I like Lili & Oli on Notre-Dame, and Station W in Verdun! But the list can go on and on and on haha Curious to see what other Montrealers list here hehe
