#1 Evonik is making itself more independent of fossil fuels: Together with EnBW, Evonik has signed a long-term electricity supply contract for the He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the North Sea. ?????

This alone will enable the Group to cover around a quarter of its electricity requirements in Europe from 2026 with the help of renewable energy.

#2 Innovations play a major part in Evonik's systematic focus on sustainability. They play a key role in achieving sustainable growth. ?????

In 2021, Evonik generated more than €500 million in additional sales relative to 2015 from its innovation growth areas, such as sustainable solutions for health, cosmetics and membranes.?

#3 Evonik is making the energy supply at its German locations significantly more independent of natural gas. ???

At our German sites we can substitute up to 40 percent of the natural gas we use. In addition to safeguarding our own production, Evonik is helping to save natural gas in Germany.?

#4 Evonik invests $220 million in a new lipid production facility for mRNA-based therapies. ????

The new plant will broadly position the Group for future growth in novel mRNA-based therapies beyond COVID-19 vaccines and strengthen its leading role as a strategic innovation partner for pharmaceutical companies worldwide.?

#5 Evonik is becoming "greener" and launching the next phase of its strategic transformation.?????

Under the slogan "Next Generation Evonik," we are aligning our portfolio entirely to the three growth divisions Specialty Additives, Nutrition & Care and Smart Materials.??

#6 Evonik grew successfully in 2021. ????

Sales increased by 23 percent to €15 billion. Adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow also both increased by over 20 percent compared with the previous year.?

#7 Evonik invests a three-digit million euro sum in the construction of a new production facility for bio-based rhamnolipids on an industrial scale. ??????

Rhamnolipids are fully biodegradable surfactants that represent a sustainable alternative to synthetic surfactants in many areas.?
