Bertelsmann’s "Mental Health Matters" Campaign: A Step Toward Well-being
Yesterday, on World Mental Health Day, Bertelsmann launched its new campaign, “Mental Health Matters,” reaffirming its dedication to supporting the mental well-being of employees worldwide. With a range of initiatives and events, Bertelsmann aims to create a culture where mental health is prioritized, valued, and openly discussed.
As Immanuel Hermreck, Chief Human Resources Officer at Bertelsmann, emphasized: “Mental health is essential to our employees' well-being and satisfaction. It’s also the foundation for innovation and success. At Bertelsmann, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe, appreciated, and supported—both mentally and physically.”
A Culture of Openness and Support
The campaign is designed to break down stigmas around mental health and promote a supportive workplace culture. This is a crucial step in fostering an environment where employees feel empowered to seek help and prioritize their well-being. Leaders across Bertelsmann, including Günter G?bel, Gaby McNab, Michael Lauck, and Francesco Costadura, are all committed to promoting an open dialogue about mental health.
Günter G?bel, Chairman of the Bertelsmann Group Works Council, noted, “With the increasing pace and demands of work, it’s vital that we all pay attention to our mental well-being. As an employer, Bertelsmann is committed to providing the support our people need.” Gaby McNab, Corporate Disability Officer, highlighted, “Mental health challenges are just as important as physical illnesses. Seeking professional help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and it’s essential for self-care.”
