Bermuda Investor Community brings 30 new investors to the table

Bermuda Investor Community has attracted over 30 new investors to Bermuda’s first fully digital angel investment platform.?The platform brings local investment opportunities to qualified individual investors.
So far, the Bermuda Investor Community has supported five local businesses in their quest for investment, with many more expected to follow.?The businesses supported so far cover a range of and deal ticket sizes, from $5k to $100k, and sectors including EduTech, InsurTech, Property Design and Development and Social Media.
The Bermuda Investor Community is itself a social enterprise, which charges nothing to investors and recycles all of its profits into the Ignite entrepreneurial accelerator programme (which is operated under a common charitable trust parent entity), with the aim of creating a self-sustaining eco-system for all entrepreneurial businesses in Bermuda.
The platform is designed with the needs of both entrepreneurs and investors in mind.?For investors, all of the investment opportunities are presented in a standardised format, which makes browsing and comparing deals quick and easy.?For entrepreneurs, the platform provides guidance on how their investment opportunity should be presented and the information which investors will likely want to see.?No deal goes “live” until the platform’s administrators are satisfied that their guidance has been followed. ?This is designed to make it easy for investors to find opportunities they like, and either pledge to invest straight away or reach out to the entrepreneur to find out more and negotiate terms.
