Berlin Journey 2024 - Day 2??

Our second day started with an inspiring visit at trawa ! The warm welcome and the fascinating insights into the founding story of David Budde , Max Lüddemann , and Robert Quick , as well as their successful mission to make green industrial electricity accessible to smaller companies, made it an impressive experience. What sets trawa apart from the competition in a market with price fluctuations and political challenges is its unique combination of algorithmic optimization, individually tailored offers, and sustainable energy procurement. Upon posing our questions to their start-up, we appreciate the insightful responses. Thank you for your time and effort!????

At the same time some of us visited HV Capital and looked behind the curtains of this renowned Venture Capital fund with more than €2.8B AUM. Together with Ann-Christin Stiehl we dived deep into potential early-stage investment companies and embarked in exciting discussions about product market fits, traction and defensibility of these startups. We really improved on how to think like a VC! ??

Isabel Poppek , Nils Vollmer and Jonas Kernebeck introduced us to Alpas AI , the leading AI-driven procurement software for predictive sourcing. They amazed us with their cutting-edge B2B solution, harnessing the power of AI to streamline sourcing processes and empower businesses with valuable insights on potential suppliers.

Isabel gave us insights on her founding story and what it was like working with the Y?Combinator as an accelerator. With a focus on data-driven solutions, Alpas AI exemplifies the transformative potential of technology in driving business innovation and value chain optimization.

Jonas Kernebeck dived into their Data process with us and Nils Vollmer showcased us the tool, where you as a company are able to search for potential suppliers with various filters like supplier requirements including geography or revenue, making it possible to find the best fit for your business. It was a remarkable visit! ????

Later, we embarked on an impressive journey with a captivating company presentation by CLARK , tracing its inception in 2015 to its disruptive presence in the insurtech landscape. A big thanks to Christer Schulz-G?rtner und Moritz Gudermann for the insightful presentation that was showing CLARK 's mission, impressive growth, and innovative approach and to Constanze Hoegen for making our visit possible and organizing everything!

Afterwards, we engaged in a stimulating Q&A session and had the opportunity to interact with the CLARK staff, while enjoying cold drinks and stunning views of the Spree. We even gleaned some tips and tricks for recruiting along the way. We’re looking forward to hearing more about CLARK revolutionizing the insurance industry in the future! ????

Hendrik Sander , the founder of NeoTaste , captivated us with his innovative approach to the food industry, revolutionizing the way we access dining coupons. NeoTaste 's platform is reshaping restaurant selections, connecting customers with their favorite eateries while also encouraging new culinary explorations.??

Hendrik shared NeoTaste 's inspiring founding story, highlighting the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, and provided insights into the vision and future stages of the company.

A special thanks to Malte Wappler for organizing and facilitating this insightful visit!

After enjoying some LocoChicken and Happy Slice Pizza at NeoTaste’s office, we were pleasantly surprised by a foundertalk from Nono Konopka , the Co-Founder of LANCH . He shared insights into collaborating with artists like Rapper Luciano and streamers such as Knossi and Trymacs, offering a glimpse behind the scenes of his rapid growth over the past year. We appreciated the valuable insights! ??

Our journey carried on with a delightful visit to Blossom Design ! Blossom Design is dedicated to aiding start-ups in their growth, offering expertise in software design and brand identity. Alex gave us an overview of his app and gave us insights of how its like working with artists like HeadieOne and helping other underground artists grow.

The visit continued with an interesting workshop where we developed ideas on apps that could revolutionize the nightlife. Thanks to Best Nights VC for the interesting insights and the Mast-J?germeister SE shots we got along our way!??

At Knowunity , we were happy to reunite with the founder Benedict Kurz , who visited us in Mannheim for a foundertalk last semester. We again explored the intersection of education and technology, witnessing firsthand how the platform is revolutionizing studying for students worldwide.

We engaged with a workshop on how expanding the app for University could look like and discussed problems and entry barriers with Benedict Kurz and his team. With a vision to make studying cool and accessible, Knowunity 's innovative approach to digital education and his plans for the near future left us feeling inspired.

Shoutout to Anna Krebs for organizing this get-together!????

Last but not least, our journey led us to Root Global , a company dedicated to making food supply chains more eco-friendly. Led by Karim Jawad , Valeria Langenbacher , Ben Fr?hlich , Marvin W?chter and Co-Founder Eric Oancea , we gained insights into their innovative approach. Root Global focuses on various stages of the supply chain, calculating the environmental impact from farmer to retailer to customer.
