Bennelong Business Leaders Meet Assistant Minister
Aegros recently played host to a meeting of business leaders, to Jerome Laxale MP Member for Bennelong, and to the Hon Ged Kearney MP Assistance Minister for Health and Aged Care.
As the mercury ticked up yesterday, 20 businesspeople gathered to share cool air and refreshments in the Aegros boardroom, and to meet with Ms Kearney to discuss a range of matters relating to her ministerial portfolios. The forum was a lively gathering of people from around Macquarie Park and nearby areas, suburbs that have become home to a concentration of health and pharmaceutical business.
Along with the event, Aegros was pleased to be able to take Mr Laxale and Ms Kearney on a tour of the soon-to-be-completed upgrade works currently underway at our Macquarie Park hyperimmune production facility.

When Mr Laxale last toured the works, just as the construction activities started, many of the new pieces of equipment, such as the next generation HF-02, were in protective crates. During this tour Aegros cofounders Professor Hari Nair and Mr John Manusu were proud to show just how near we are to completion. Many pieces of plant equipment are now in their final positions, including the Haemafrac? machines, the HF-01 and the HF-02, as well as the Water For Injection and Purified Water systems and vessels.
The tour was Ms Kearney’s first visit to the facility. Having a background in nursing Ms Kearney asked insightful questions and was quick to understand the importance of the pharmaceutical therapies the finished facility will produce.
Aegros was pleased to play host to the event, and we look forward to further opportunities to speak to government stakeholders about the important role Aegros can play in supporting immunocompromised patients, those reliant on plasma medicines such as immunoglobulin, and in making Australia ready for the next pandemic.
