The Benefits of Private Space

The Benefits of Private Space

When was the last time you found a quiet corner where you could retreat from the world and really relax on your own? I don’t mean a quiet corner where you can lose yourself in the distractions of your smartphone, tablet or laptop. I mean a moment for you to withdraw from the constant demands and distractions of the day. A place where you can focus all your attention inwards and appreciate the wonder of your own mental landscape.

Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom. ― Aristotle

Our lives are often dominated by the needs of work, family, children and a host of competing responsibilities. When we add the pressures of living in an uncertain and stressful world, it’s easy to understand that we can completely lose ourselves in the constant flow of distractions and stresses that constitute modern life.

That’s why it’s incredibly healthy for you to find some time just for you. It isn't selfish and it doesn't need to detract from your other duties and responsibilities. But it will help to restore some much-needed balance to your life.

So, let’s launch a new and highly productive behaviour for yourself. All you need to do is set aside some time for yourself every single day. Use it for whatever you feel is most important for your health and wellbeing.

Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

― C.G. Jung

Feel absolutely free to use the time to meditate. To dream. To think about your goals. To think about your needs and your welfare.?Consider the things that you feel are missing from your life. Ask yourself why your life doesn’t contain more of these missing ingredients. Think about what you need to do right now to make your life happier, stronger, more successful, more fulfilling.

Make this an important part of your daily routine.?

Set aside time to make plans for yourself.

Focus on yourself for a while and use your special time to consider how to improve your health, your happiness and your wellbeing. Let the seeds of creativity take root in your imagination and germinate in your daily actions. Let these new ideas help you to recognise and fulfil your individual needs, opening up greater possibilities for self-expression, greater success and personal fulfilment.

In order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion.

― Albert Camus

As you take care of others and your daily responsibilities, make absolutely sure that you take time to take good care of you as well. And whatever plans emerge into your mind, be sure to write them down. Make a simple declaration that you are going to do whatever’s necessary to fulfil your goals and dreams.

Let these moments of precious contemplation be the source of fresh insights for you. Let them offer you the guidance you need to formulate the great plans you can use to move your life forwards.

And then - take all the necessary steps to make your dreams a reality!

The only real journey is the one within yourself.

Rainer Maria Rilke
