Benefits

Today's devotional is from What Would Jesus Ask You Today?

"What did you go out to see?" - Matthew 11:8.

People put their time and energy into people, things, and activities they value. That may be work, family, hobbies, ministry, or any number of things on which they have set their heart. In Jesus;s day, the people flocked to see John the Baptist and Jesus was asking them why they went out to see him, wondering what they were looking for. Some went looking for the Messiah; some went out of curiosity; still others went to repent of their sins and seek spiritual renewal.

What do you go out to see? Movies? The mountains? The beach? The stock market? In other words, where are you investing your time? If Jesus is your passion and focus, then you should invest some time in learning more about Him and the ways of God. Read Mark 10:29-31 and see the benefits when you abandon casual interests and replace them with the things of God as your focus.
