Intuitive eating is in essence, the antithesis of the diet culture, and can help you to break down the cycle of dieting by reconnecting you with your body cues and hunger and fullness signals.
Based on ten principles originally developed by two American nutritionists Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, intuitive eating is a calm, mindful, and happy approach to food.

1. It lets you enjoy the food you eat
This might just be the best benefit of Intuitive Eating if you are a foodie like me! With this Non-Diet approach to healthy eating, no foods that are off the table. You willl be encouraged to enjoy and saviour the taste of the food you eat,
Restrictions can create cravings and mental hunger, potentially leading to binges or emotional eating.
2. It helps break the cycle of dieting
Have you ever been in a cycle of dieting and weight gain?
Too much dieting can create havoc in your metabolism, leading you to more weight gain. Diets can confuse your hunger and fullness sensations and the "set-point" centre in your brain.
Diets can also create food obsessions like orthorexia, and lead to a disordered and stressed relationship with food.
With an intuitive eating approach, you will connect with your hunger and fullness cues, and create a mindful approach to food so, that you will not need to "be on a diet".
