Relationship Marketing Is About People Helping People
Around the world and throughout history, we have seen that relationships are what matter most in life and in business.
When you focus on how you can help others and solve their problems, they are interested in knowing you and, yes, doing business with you.
The beauty of using AI is that it now streamlines and facilitates the connection of people better than we have ever been able to do before in history.
It's almost ironic that a new technology called AI helps people to get closer to each other. But then, that's what really good technology has always done throughout history. Technology, when used properly, makes life better for human beings.
I'm seeing that regularly in my audiences where I speak around the country and for audiences around the world.
We're finding that AI gives us the ability to connect with people better because of a better quality of written communication that is now possible. Think of tools like Perplexity, ChatGPT, Jasper, and many more.
Also, we're seeing that we're able to do more with audio and video using AI than we could before. Think of tools like Google's NotebookLM, ElevenLabs, Descript, and more.
AI is giving us the ability to reach people at scale and to help them.
Like with any technology, we can use this new means of producing content faster for good or for bad.
This has been true of technology throughout the centuries.
That quote above from Kathy Ireland is so true. Business is about building mutually beneficial relationships where each person is better off because they were involved in that interaction.
Businesses do exceptionally well when they have a long-term relationship that is mutually beneficial. Yes, there is a place for one-time transactions, but even there, both parties and businesses do better when it's done in a mutually beneficial, voluntary style.
It's Different Today— But It's Really The Same
Yes, it is different today in that we're using AI regularly on our laptops, on our mobile phones, and in other ways.
And yet, at the same time, it's really the same because it's a focus on helping people.
That is the key.
The more you can help people to achieve the goals they want and need, the better off you will be.
I love it that I can create content very fast using ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other wonderful tools that help me to get better copy. They are faster in creating the work. They also give me suggestions for inclusion in my content.
Notice that I said suggestions rather than doing it for me.

You want AI to be the junior copywriter who's giving you, as the chief copywriter, the ideas that you can use, modify, and adapt to what is best for you.
I like to say you need to "you-ize" what you're doing by putting your own voice, feelings, experience, and other unique input into the finished product.
The best copy comes from those writers who personalize what they're doing and make the writing come alive for the reader.
This has been true throughout the centuries. Even though AI is new technology, those who embrace the time-honored principles of caring for others and paying attention to their needs will do better.
Tools That Help Build Relationship Marketing
In this newsletter, I'll be sharing several tools from time to time that can help you in your own relationship marketing. There are several good tools on the market today, and they continue to get better all the time.
We often like to say that these AI tools we're using today are the worst they will ever be.
That's just another way to say — with our tongues firmly inserted in our cheeks — these AI tools are getting better all the time.
One of the main tools that I'm using right now is, like so many others who are using it, ChatGPT. It gives us the ability to do a lot of great research, and it can help in formulating ideas.
I also love to use Perplexity, which I find a wonderful balance for ChatGPT. Sometimes one of them might be wrong, and I like to look at the other to see what kind of references are given. It is very good to have two wonderful tools like these.
I also love using a tool called CastMagic. I've trained a lot of people on how to use CastMagic. It gives you the ability to create a lot of repurposed material. For instance, if you have an interview, it gives you the ability to create a LinkedIn article, a post on X (formerly Twitter), titles that are really good, and a whole lot more.
I regularly use it to also get Spanish language translations. CastMagic can handle many different languages.
All of these tools help to build relationships because they're helping you to find out more about what people in your target market are looking for.
