Benefits of 1-1 Leadership Coaching

With the explosion of coaching services in the recent years there are many more people who are taking advantage of leadership coaching. Organizations are finding cadres of coaches to provide to their new or seasoned leaders to support them in their leadership journeys and individual leaders are reaching out to get coaches on their own as well. As more people have experienced coaching they are experiencing the following benefits of leadership coaching services:

  1. A focus on your goals - one on one coaching is tailored to the client's particular needs. As a result the coach works with the client to outline their goals and desired outcomes and then uses each session to delve into those goals focusing on getting the client the results that they desire.
  2. A gift of time - often leaders are so busy on the day to day and fighting fires that they don't have time to step back, reflect, and/or think strategically. Working with a coach is dedicated time to do just that with the coach asking questions, listening, and reflecting back to the client what they are hearing thereby allowing them to hear, learn, and make decisions perhaps differently than they might have otherwise done.
  3. A different perspective - as coaches are often outside of the client's organization and certainly not someone close to the the coach can often provide an unbiased, outside perspective to a challenge or issue that the client is experiencing. As a result client's can see things much more broadly, from a different mindset and/or take actions that they may not have taken otherwise.

Overall the benefits of coaching are vast. If you have never had a coach there is a lot of value in doing so.
