JM is made up of many important goals, each with its own set of challenges in order to achieve a smart water management system. Major Challenges are listed in broad strokes below. i. JJM requires more effective systems for implementing sustainable water conservation methods, as water demand will exceed available water supply by the end of a 30-year period. While several methods for sustainable water conservation are mentioned in the JJM implementation guidelines, significant capital investments in the SAPs/DAPs are required.ii. The presence of groundwater contaminants like fluoride, arsenic, and other heavy metals in approximately 56,788 households across 18 states will make it difficult for the JJM to provide adequate water quality. 2. iii. Because of India's diverse climatic conditions, water demand varies accordingly. JJM requires additional infrastructure development to provide year-round water supply. iv. Community participation is also a challenge in the district's operational areas.
