Beneath the Aurora: Mindset Musings Under the Northern Lights

Beneath the Aurora: Mindset Musings Under the Northern Lights

I had the extremely rare opportunity to see the Northern Lights where I live in Indiana.

I remember reading something about solar blah blah but it didn’t register as Northern Lights.? Like many people, I have seeing the Northern Lights on my bucket list.? (Actually had a trip planned to Canada in 2020 scheduled to leave the same day all travel came to a halt.)

?It was Friday and my plan that evening was to just relax, drink tea, hallmark and do my job as the human pillow for Amber, my cat. I almost missed the display.

As I noticed my social media feed, ?I started seeing the more posts showing pictures displaying the sky where they were.? ?I recognized the pictures. ( I have the images burned in my brain.) I recognized what they were pictures of and at first I thought.

That’s nice they get to travel to see them.’?

Then I started seeing more and more images from people who live where I live and I knew there was NO way they were all traveling at the same time to a see the ‘lights’.

?Wait…. This was happening around me and had been happening for a while.? My first response was….. wim (woe is me, I missed it).

But then I had a little self pep talk as simple – 'Get up and go for it.'

Because I chose to act, I was able to see a spectacular display meant for me.? FROM my backyard..?

Of course as my mind is extremely reflective and introspective. I felt the downloads coming.

Here are my mindset musings from my “Midwest Meets the Northern Lights" experience.

1.??? Complain or go see if I can get what’s meant for me.

2.??? Sometimes blessings don’t look like I think they should; God can bless me anywhere.

?3.??? Success doesn’t always look like I think it will look.

?4.??? Hold the ‘what’ of my dreams in vivid detail; be flexible on the how.

?5.??? My room with a view was designed just for me. My display was filled with radiant purple, my signature color.? My place, my position, my tribe – designed for sharing my gift to the world.

?6.??? I posted my pictures on social. It was uniquely my view. It didn’t matter what other people were posting. And their post didn’t invalidate mine.? Keep sharing my story. It doesn’t matter that there are other coaches. I am uniquely equipped to serve my tribe of quiet achievers.

?7.??? Sometimes you have to change how you look at things to see them come to pass.? I couldn’t see the lights with my naked eye.? I had to use the camera on my phone. ?

?8.??? All things of God are not visible to the naked eye all the time. I can only see when I can see.? Be in the position to allow Him to work and participate.? I had to go outside in my slippers at 11:30pm in faith and anticipation believing that I would see the lights. ??

?9.??? Be open to things not looking necessarily like I think they will.? That doesn’t make them less amazing. No, my northern lights experience, I wasn’t in a cold land far, far away.? And they were still amazing.

?

10.? I am equipped.? It’s enough. Continue to use what I have to serve people who wish they had what I have.? ???

?

11.? Just when I think God is up to nothing.? I am wrong.? He is at work in me, through me and around me.? Because I can’t always see doesn’t mean He is still.

?

12.? It doesn’t have to be hard.? But it will take effort.? It wasn’t hard to get my phone, go outside in my backyard, look up at the sky and see the radiance.? It DID take effort.? The success coming to me doesn’t have to come as a result of endless striving. But it does take effort.? There is a way of less effort but the way of no effort, does not exist.? ??

Which of these resonated most with you?

Out of curiosity, what is on your bucket list?

Till next time,

Stephanie

This is my favorite: 2.???Sometimes blessings don’t look like I think they should; God can bless me anywhere.

I love the one of things not necessarily ending up looking like I think they will.
