A Bench Is Not For Sitting

A Bench Is Not For Sitting

In my school days, I used to sit on the last bench, making it very convenient to slip out of the class. The bench is always there, not for sitting, but for sneaking.

So, now I am a bench sales recruiter, finding my past bench experience handy to sneak into talent hunters’ minds and moods.

What is bench sales?

Bench Sales, also known as "Bench Marketing," is a recruitment process. The bench sales recruiter identifies contract (or C2C, or Corp-to-Corp) requirements from job boards, social media, and other online sources. The recruiter then determines whether the candidate will fit the role based on their experience and skills. Once they are approved, the recruiter will forward the profiles of the consultants to prime vendors to negotiate rates, and tax terms, set up interviews, and ultimately make an offer if the candidate is successful. If the candidate fails, the recruiter falls.

Have you ever heard of any blogs on bench sales? Probably a big NO.

Nobody talks about it, no one blogs about it, and only a handful work on it to make the hiring manager’s life easier.

Hiring is, in fact, finding a needle in a haystack. You might find the needle. You may lay your hand on that just to watch it slip out of your hands, making all the effort meaningless.

Imagine a recruiter who shortlisted 100 profiles, He sent all the profiles to the company for screening. 50 of them were selected at the screening level. 10 were selected in the tech round 4 selected in the coding round. In HR round 2, two of them did not show up. Both the remaining candidates were offered the jobs. One did not sign the offer letter. The one who signed the offer letter did not turn in the paperwork to join the company.?So, the recruiter has to start the process again.

"Back-out" is the nightmare that every recruiter sleeps with, and there is no solution to this. Here, the bench sales recruiter comes in as the savior to help the talent acquisition managers. Because he has the talent stored on the bench and he is standing out, with an extended neck, to sneak into the tech window.
