The Bench Mark For Science Project: Honoring Health Science Contributors through Storytelling Benches in Parks Nationwide

On August 10, 2024, For Nurses By Nurses Productions gathered an ensemble of nurse educators, historians, philanthropist, community advocates and storytellers for the launch of The Bench Mark for Science Project and the Unveiling of The Nurse Scientist Mural.

Denetra Hampton, Founder and Producer led the program with an introduction of the project and recognition of the cast of her first film, The Black Angels, A Nurse's Story. Marjorie Tucker Reed, The Black Angel honored in the film, will receive the first bench of the project.

In her introduction, Denetra told the audience, "The power of storytelling has always been a bridge between the past and the future, between knowledge and inspiration.
