THE BENCH: Lot's of B's
The BENCH is a B about learning leadership and leadership skills, discipline and Integrity. There are other B's like being a BULLY and being full of Bulls--t.
You know exactly what I mean, the B for BULLS--T is when people avoid the hard stuff, they tell you what you want to hear but have zero intent to ever back what they say. As soon as someone says, If this ever comes up, I will say I never said it? So BULLS---T. If you are not backing your own words either never say it or have the Integrity to stand by it. If I tell you I am going to support you, or back you or do anything, people know that Kevin Browett is going to do it and most likely do it better than promised. Be a leader that says what they mean and stands behind what they say. Otherwise never ever present yourself as such, people are watching, they see through this and the team is not loyal to leaders like this. Being just a nice person goes only so far when you put out too much BULLS--T.
BULLY is another NON leadership model. The BENCH is all about support, being there when you have the worst of days, yes it will be rock solid when you need it, but some leaders feel compelled to "beat you up" every chance they get, this is the old, hey I want to bring out the best in them, well if you understand leadership it is the balance of PUSHING someone to be and do better but being involved and smart enough to see the potential breaking points and hold them up, encourage them, teach mentor them to get past the next level not just beat them with literally no guidance on the HOW.

I had a wrestling coach who was just like this, screaming at you, no matter how hard you tried never enough. If we wrestled a team( Wrestling matches normally took place twice a week at about 7:30 at night. If the coach felt, regardless of winning or losing we did not go all out and we were a very, VERY good team. We got back on the bus at 9:30 at night, went back to the gym, and had, "Die Night". This was a nonstop workout till you literally could not get up off the mat. I learned how not to lead, I was in brutal shape and felt like I could tear trees out of the ground but we all had zero respect for him. As a Captain, before each match, we circled the center mat, locked hands, and said, "We do this for TEAM" not for him! The point is being a real leader is to inspire the person to want to do better, make them see how it is to be better, and mentor them on good days and on bad days, 1% better each day matters.
The moral of this BLOG, be the right kind of B, and remember they are watching what you do and that will last forever. You have only one life to lead, think about what that looks like.
