Professional magnetic therapy device donated to the Orthopaedics Department at Heim Pál Children's Hospital – Budapest, Hungary
BEMER Medicintechnika Kft. donated the latest version of their medical device authorized for physical vascular therapy to the Orthopaedics Department at Heim Pál National Paediatric Institute, where first-generation devices have been used with success in regeneration, growth and healing processes for about 15 years.
On January 31, János Beck and Dr. Ilona Horváth handed over the new device to chief physician Dr. Péter Marschalkó, head of department at the Institute’s Orthopaedics Department.
Dr. Marschalkó expressed his thanks for the state-of-the-art third-generation device that filled a gap at his department in terms of improving the quality of patient care.
In his speech he also praised the cooperation that goes back many years, since for a long time BEMER systems allow them to support special healing processes such as the hip disorder called Perthes’ disease or Scheuermann's disease, a condition affecting the spine.
Both conditions are characterized by the temporary dying of bone cells and their later reformation. Improved microcirculation and better blood supply facilitate such regeneration.
Representing BEMER Medicintechnika Kft., director Dr. Ilona Horváth emphasized: this was not the first time they offered support and this is not a once-only support. Their objective is the dynamic development of the Orthopaedics Department at the children’s hospital in order that children may access to high quality care quickly. She also mentioned that their devices are used in over 70 hospitals and outpatient clinics in Hungary.
The BEMER Professional device now donated also affects the microvessels, and facilitates faster recovery after limb lengthening surgery and promotes the healing process in other paediatric orthopaedic diseases.
Chronic symptoms of unknown origin, which appear in the spine, hip and knee area, receive complex physiotherapy treatment that also includes Bemer treatment.
Medical Director Dr. Ferenc Fekete stated that the Institute is proud of the medical care of high professional quality they provide, and the BEMER systems help to maintain and further improve it as complementary therapies in the complex treatment of children. Thanks to the new device, the Institute will be able to extend orthopaedic care and rehabilitation to even more children. He emphasized that Heim Pál National Paediatric Institute provides permanent national emergency traumatology and surgery service, treats 37,000 in-patients and 500,000 out-patients per year, of which on an average 1,250 children are treated at the Orthopaedics Department each year.
