Fact of the Month: Carbon Credits

As the world increasingly recognizes the importance of lowering carbon emissions, different solutions have been suggested and, in some cases, practiced. One such solution is the establishment of carbon credits.

Carbon credits are a system of monetizing measurable carbon mitigation. The fewer emissions you contribute to, the more carbon credits you can acquire, and then sell.

Carbon credits are not currently mandatory in the US besides California, but in other parts of the world they are already helping to make a difference.

As we move towards higher environmental standards globally, carbon credits will become significantly more prevalent throughout the world, including in the United States. This provides the exciting opportunity for businesses to not only restructure their processes to be greener, but also earn additional money. In fact, the price of carbon credits is predicted to increase significantly by 2030, meaning the sooner governments and businesses get on board, the more money they can be making while also helping out our planet.

“Tiny Home Green Builds” Project Update:

Belter Tech’s dream of a Sustainable Tiny Home is becoming a reality. With the Marino\WARE StudRite? framing done, the electric and HVAC installed, and the walls sheathed utilizing Greenspan's Cem-Rock MgO Boards, the next step is simply to infill the walls with Belter Tech’s Insulated Concrete Fill, Belter Therm. Belter Therm is a first of its kind bagged mix with CRDC GLOBAL Resin8 plastic and Kingspan Insulation waste PIR foam. With the concrete bags onsite and the latest round of Tiny Home showcases complete, this step should be complete in the upcoming week.

After that, the final stages of the build include the installation of some of our internal sustainable appliances, as well as the external addition of our algae tanks. To those who are unfamiliar with algae tanks, they function as carbon sequestration systems. In fact, algae sequesters more algae globally than rainforests! Additionally, our system requires no maintenance as it automatically expels old algae as new algae grows. The old algae can be used as fertilizer, food, etc. ?

Recycling

As of last month, Belter Tech has diverted 637,876 lbs. of waste that otherwise would have been sent to landfills.
