Belt Squats

Wanna squat without straining your lower back? Have difficulty finding the right form to minimize knee stress? Belt squats are the answer. There are several ways to perform them and this is probably the simplest. You can rig up a set up with a weight belt or buy the perfect one at ironmind.com. I find these squats really lend themselves to high reps and are a great finisher. I like to do 2 sets of 50 (!) reps at the end of my leg routine using 25lb plates to maximize ROM. You can also stand on aerobic step benches to really get deep.

They work! Wait to see what kind of killer pump you will get without any joint strain. Great for partner competition too; see how many reps you can get without ever locking out or how many you can do with half your body weight on the bar. Good times :)
