Belshazzar's Feast!
Belshazzar's Feast. Rembrandt's greatest piece of work in my opinion. Rembrandt's inspiration for this masterpiece was Cyrus the Great's overthrow of Babylon without the loss of a single life. A Persian freeing the Jews - imagine that. No wonder his teachings and scrolls - became the basis for the UN's charter on human rights. History tells us an Angel came to Belshazzar on the eve of his great feast - before the impending invasion by Cyrus The Great. The angel told him (Belshazzar) that he would be defeated. Apparently it was written on the wall by this angelic force - hence a few thousand years later we still use the phrase for almost certain outcomes....The Writing's on the wall. Some things last eternally - some things - like great ideas and many great companies disappear in the blink of an eye. Think like a great-Chess-master, many-moves-ahead before you just jump-in.
