Beloved Poetic Thoughts

So..... I won't be writing on Sunday's. It's a day of physical and mental rest for me. What does true rest look like to you? I was going through old journals of mine the other day as I was organizing; consequently, I stumbled over a journal that highlighted true rest to me. Read it below:

"Being Still. IT STANDS AS A CERTAINTY when I come to terms with what being still is to me. It's a certainty that everything will be all right because of whom I belong to. Jesus told Peter to come out into the storm because he asked. I wholeheartedly know that he also was asking Peter to be certain of who was requesting him to do so. God can invite us into a stormy season but will let us survive because he knows best. As Tasha Cobbs sang, "Be still and know," because he truly is God alone. He does not need our help. Being still = rest. "

Furthermore, it is a beautiful thing to have rest. It creates a stillness in our minds when facing adversities. People in true faith have this even when facing death in the family, loss of opportunities, divorce, and other difficult life situations. It's a day of rest for those celebrating Independence Day, but I hope you seek rest for the entire duration of your life here in the Kingdom. I sincerely hope you see that you are taken care of and that someone is always fighting and moving on your behalf. He is waiting on you to rest in him. Now, eat some good ribs for me! I'm not eating pork anymore, BUT I surely miss them. Let's REST always, not just on the day society sows seeds of "rest" :)
