Belonging to own dreams feels surreal

There is something surreal in holding an unopened book, coming straight from a print house. There is something surreal in holding that book and realizing that it is my own.
It does not only belong to me. It is "me".

We all have our dreams, our aspirations.
Some of them are unspoken. Either we lack the words to express them, or we are afraid of judgmental looks. We think that the pedestal sustaining our aspirations is too high - and we might drop them off. We might compromise our dreams.
There is something surreal holding a book and realizing that it is a part of own dreams, feeling all the emotional memories that come along.
In my childhood I had spent many nights, reading books - in secrecy with a flashlight under the cover – not allowing my dreams to get the spotlight they were deserving.
Holding “My Own Book” brings back those memories:? the stories of a courageous girls who fought for their dreams. Those were the dreams of belonging in an aspirational circle. Those were the dreams of making societies a better place - for all.
Allowing ourselves to pursue our dreams, might feel insecure. Yet when our aspirations do receive enough attention and safe space to get framed, they become real.
“How do you feel now, holding your own Book?” I am being asked.
Completing the last milestone of a long-term project has two sides. Holding in my hands the Book that I have breathed in for the past twelve months, I experience both of these sensations. ?One: the satisfactory sense of achievement. Two: the insecure emptiness and the unknown.
Writing it, publishing it - this is the past.?Thinking about it, talking about it, giving it its second life - this is the now.
Our human nature pressures for validation. ?"Is my Book perfect?" Objectively, no. Rather, it is a gift of imperfection. And it is perfect to me.
It is yet another proof that we all can pursue our aspirations - authentically, from the bottom of our hearts - even if it feels awkward. We can belong to our dreams, even if it feels surreal.
Accept that surreality - it will become your reality.
Relentless acceptance is the key. #belongingmatters
