Belong & Perform: Your View of Enough Might Be Extinguishing Your Performance

Belong & Perform: Your View of Enough Might Be Extinguishing Your Performance

Are you enough?

Surround yourselves with people for an environment, where you and they choose each other as enough.

(hint: that environment exists in each of our minds also)

  • Enough to be as you are
  • Enough to grow
  • Enough to do more
  • Enough even in fear
  • Enough to not know it all
  • Enough to recover
  • Enough to aspire
  • Enough even in failure
  • Enough in your success

When you’re in belonging, with self and others, you’re always enough.

We become the highest performing people on earth when we find ourselves enough as we are, in striving, and when we fail along the way.

Remember this: Before you walked, you were enough. And you really sucked at it.

There's a fine line between contentment and ambition, I have found. 'Never settle", "good is never enough" are common expressions in the hustle community, or high growth entrepreneurship. There is also a sort of contentment that says "I'm good where I'm at." It would be diminishing returns to push for much better. 80/20 rule applies to nearly everything. ?? Paul Haury

Your post brought back the Erikson's life stage model and our innate need for autonomy. How much to you think old wounds are triggered (vs for those who don't have such early life wounds) when workplace dynamics are not optimal? https://www.verywellmind.com/autonomy-versus-shame-and-doubt-2795733
