Starting the journey?for "A Better U" we have to learn some foundational skills, without gaining these skills many of the upcoming skills that we will be working develop, maybe not be stable and we could lose quickly, one of the most important foundational skills is "Believing in Yourself".

So what is the meaning of "Believe in Yourself"? Believing in yourself means having faith in your own capabilities. It means believing that you CAN do something — that it is within your ability.?

"Believe in Yourself" is that important to us? When you believe in yourself, you can overcome self-doubt and have the confidence to take action and get things done.

“Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

How do you know that you need to develop how you "Believe in Yourself"?

You could have one or more of the following signs, showing you have to work on believing yourself and they are:

  • You always second guess yourself, you have a hard time making decisions, no matter how small, struggling to trust your own judgment.
  • You overthink everything, once you finally do make up your mind, you immediately start wondering if you made the right choice and more often start seeing all the reasons why you should’ve gone with the other option instead.
  • You believe in other people’s opinions more than your own, you are also easily swayed by the opinions of others, and can’t make a decision without asking for their input.
  • You’re overly critical of yourself, beat yourself up over your shortcomings, and find it hard to forgive yourself for the things you’ve done wrong.
  • You’re afraid to speak up, afraid to share your opinions, thoughts, feelings, and viewpoints, especially when it contradicts those around you.

Now that I have one or more of these signs, that show that I need to work on believing in myself, what shall I do then?!

3 Steps to better "Believe in Yourself":

1. Know Your Worth

Believing in yourself is believing that you have worth. If you have a difficult time believing that you are worthy of your dreams, then why would you even shoot for them? We can start to grow our self-worth by being kind to ourselves and practicing self-compassion going easy on ourselves when we struggle or make mistakes.

2. Remember Your Good Qualities

You must believe that you have the qualities or skills you need to do whatever it is you want to do, it can be really helpful to create a list of your positive qualities and strengths, think about how these positive qualities and strengths can help you reach your goals.

3. Build Your Self-Trust

We often think of trust as something we have for others. But we also have (or don't have) trust for ourselves.

Tips to start building trust within yourself:

- Do what you say you're going to do, maybe this means reducing your number of commitments, learning to say "no", or sticking to a schedule.

- Be honest with yourself, and get to the truth of what you really think, feel, and need in life.

- Be clear to yourself, know the things you are willing to do and the things you are not.

By learning to "Believe in Yourself" you are learning to Master your World.

Now it's your turn to take your first step, by putting what you have learned today into practice. I would like to hear back from you about your thoughts and if you feel like sharing your experience on how you are working to develop the believe in yourself :)
