Believe in yourself !!!

It's been quite awhile since I started out in life. But I still remember myself when I had just completed my graduation in 1985; or when I had passed out of XLRI after completing my management course in 1988. I was filled with self-doubt, and apprehension about whether or not I would be successful at work and in life.

As time passed, and I had more and more success stories to look back on, I gradually began to believe more in myself. But until then, it was it was mostly my determination that helped me to persist with whatever I was doing.

I remember even as late as 1993, when I used to prepare for giving presentations, I would ask my wife to listen to me and give me feedback as I would practise over and over again. The art of public speaking took me many years to develop. Of course, later on in my career I was both a fairly accomplished speaker, as well as seasoned facilitator.

What I'm trying to get at here, is that not all of us are blessed to have an abundance of self confidence at the outset of our lives and careers. But as we mature and get more comfortable in our skins, we cease to worry so much about what others might think of us, or about making a fool of ourselves. And it is only then, when we truly let go of our inhibitions and really begin to believe in ourselves that we fully live up live up to the abundance of potential that each one of us is born with.

So just hang in there even if you do not believe in yourself just yet. Persist with your goals, and never stop dreaming big. One day, when you have achieved way more than you had ever thought possible in your wildest dreams; you too will look back on a life well spent, and remember the days when you did not believe in yourself.
