believe in yourself
Every now and then life asks you to restart, reboot and reinvent.??Sometimes it is exactly what you want and need or it can be uncomfortable and forced.?The older you get the more resistant to adjustments you become and the less likely you are to embrace the change.
When looking at your financial services practice in 2023, the three most important elements to consider are the following: 1. What value are you adding to your client’s lives?; 2. Do you have a clear business process?; and 3. Does the remuneration you receive by way of commission and fees correlate with the tasks that you do every day?.
The problem we currently face is that we mostly get paid for product sales, where the work that we do is in fact something completely different.?Analysing a client’s current financial situation, formulating his/her dreams or goals, making suitable recommendations and then walking next to them as they undertake the journey is our real job.
So what do client’s currently see as ‘value’ (something they are willing to pay for)? Positive input and de-mystifying financial terms, but most importantly the feeling that the financial planner can understand and formulate the outcomes that are important to the client while having the client’s best interests at heart. A financial planning practice will more and more need these principles to be the foundation from which we operate. When you formulate your value proposition and identify your personal brand, you will be able to attract clients which will see your unique way of working as a value add to their lives.
