Kirill Sidorets , a senior product designer from Saint Petersburg, decided to start his life anew in the United Kingdom. Immigram : Could you tell us a little about yourself and your career?

Kirill Sidorets : I've been working in design for six years, progressing from a novice to a senior product designer. I began my career at a tech company in St. Petersburg when I was just 18. Now, I work at a company that develops infrastructure for one of the world's most popular blockchains. I design mobile and web interfaces, which I not only enjoy but also regard as a hobby. This passion helped me secure a visa to the UK.

Immigram : Why did you decide to move to the UK?

Kirill Sidorets : It all started in 2022 when I decided to change my life and move to a new country. I spent some time living in Asia and then in Serbia. After visiting the UK, I realised it was the right place to make my home. The UK offers a transparent immigration process, a clear path to citizenship and a passport within three to five years, and a strong tech sector for career growth in IT.

Immigram : How did you come to apply for the Global Talent Visa?

Kirill Sidorets : I’ve been thinking about the talent visa for a while but really didn't think I could get it. I first heard about the UK Global Talent Visa two or three years ago. Since then, I've learned a lot about it: I saw ads on Instagram for Immigram, a company that assists people in obtaining this visa, and I heard about it from friends who had successfully secured it. Everyone said it was possible. Though I lacked awards and public speaking experience, I decided to give it a shot.

Immigram : Can you tell us a little bit about the Immigram contest that you won?

Kirill Sidorets : When I started gathering documents for my visa, I came across a giveaway on social media for free visa application assistance from Immigram. I shared the post, and, well, I won! I still can’t believe I got this opportunity, but I can definitely say that winning motivated me to see everything through to the end. Now, I’ve received my endorsement from Tech Nation, and I plan to collect my visa in a month.

Immigram : Can you describe the application process with Immigram?

Kirill Sidorets : After winning the giveaway prize from Immigram, we quickly signed a contract and began the work. We prepared the case in about six months, and the timeline ended up being exactly as Immigram had promised at the start. In my case, obtaining the signed recommendation letters was the 'bottleneck' that slowed down the process. It was challenging to secure recommendations from professionals because obtaining each letter's signature could take two or even three months.

Immigram : What was the most challenging part for you in this process?

Kirill Sidorets : The hardest part of preparing this case was stepping out of my comfort zone and participating in professional contests and conferences where I had to speak in front of an audience. Ultimately, I participated in the PeredelanoConf meetup for technical specialists, served as a jury member at the Awwwards, and won first place in a contest organised by Telegram Messenger. It was challenging, but I successfully passed all the tests.

Immigram : Have you already moved to the UK? Please tell us a bit about the relocation process and your plans.

Kirill Sidorets : ?I haven’t moved to the UK yet because I just received the endorsement. My girlfriend and I are scheduled for an appointment at TLS soon—in fact, we’ve already booked it. We will go, submit our passports, and then wait for the visas. I think we’ll move to the UK in two or three months. We plan to stay there, improve our English, make friends, assimilate, settle down, and eventually get a passport. We want to make this place our second home, or maybe even our first.

Immigram : What are your impressions of working with Immigram?
