Believe, Receive & Enjoy!

This is a picture of me with my family doing one of our favorite things on Christmas Day-- we love to play basketball! As we wrap up the holiday season, my message is one of hope. Every year I ask my husband what he wants for Christmas and his answer is always the same: “Peace on earth, good will toward men.” I agree, I think we could all use a little more peace and goodwill in our lives. And I think one of the best ways to do that is to?Believe, Receive?and?Enjoy.?Here's how:

Believe

Each one of us has a choice when it comes to our beliefs. At the beginning of every year, I always say, “This will be my best year ever!” (Yes, I optimistically even said that at the beginning of 2021).

It’s not just a motivational trick, I truly believe in the power of optimism. Here are a few things that I believe:

• We will never regret slowing down and making family memories
• No matter what is going on around us, we can still choose to be grateful for what we have, and not spend our energy focusing on what we don’t?
• Every day we will come in contact with someone that could use some encouragement or support, and we can offer that through a smile, a text or an “I love you”

Receive

I challenge you to pause this post holiday season and be grateful for any gifts that you receive. Appreciate the person, the effort, the thought for the gift, the card you get in the mail, the treat your neighbor made or the meal at the party to which you were invited.

Last night I had a client take me to dinner. Our food was delicious and the company was even better. As I woke up this morning, my heart was full of gratitude. I love treating others, and being a business owner, I’m used to picking up the tab. I am so grateful that she invited me to a wonderful dinner and I received her generosity with happiness and gratitude.

Enjoy

No matter what 2021 looked like for you, I challenge you to take some time to enjoy the last two weeks of the year. Unwind, do some things just for fun, and enjoy this amazing experience that we call life. And prepare for 2022 - it's going to be?the?BEST year yet!
