Believe in Love
Bob Grant believes in love and I believe in love too. On that morning, when we met at the Goldsworthy Spire in the Presido I asked him to bring with him a collection of poetry that he admired and he did. He read to me right there a poem that has stuck with him, a poem that moved his heart, and it was perfect. But that’s for a later ODE, not this one. We began that morning with poetry as a prayer, an hommage to love, which is what Bob’s all about.
But he doesn’t just talk about love, and read about love, he administers it. I can’t even fathom the lives that he’s helped to save. Bob’s a healer, not just because he’s a doctor, or an AIDS researcher, but because he exudes love, which is more virulent and more powerful than anything biological. Love is airborn, and can span great distances. It is the very basis of quantum entanlgement. One not need be in physical proximity to benefit from or provide the benfits of love. The most powerful form of prayer is love.
Bob says ‘Love is connection’ and the connections that led me to him are staggering. First there was Michele, who was the very catalyst behind these ODEs, and then Shannon, whose daughter Taft was one of the very first we did together and through them, Bob, whose life and work represents what I had hoped to share through this remarkable process of revelation.
If I never help create another ODE again I can say that at least this one, Bob’s, is what Michele and I had envisioned.
