Believe There is Good in Everyone.

I believe that there is good in everyone.?No matter how much vitriol exists around every corner and across virtually every media channel – social or electronic ? goodness still exists.?Truthfully said, it just doesn’t sell.?Stories of good deeds are slotted into to the “D” block of news programs or hidden in plain sight on special interest shows such as CBS Sunday Morning.?Pieces about “doing good” are relegated to the “cute” category.?Good deeds are rarely really celebrated.?

Being good to others takes very little effort.?It is within all of us.?We can’t let divisiveness rule the day.?Celebrate the good each day – with your family and friends, and in your life and your career.?Be present with loved ones.?Try to help someone who is down on their luck.?Reach out to an old friend or mend a fence in a relationship that’s broken.?Be grateful for what you have rather than yearn for what you don’t.?Take the spirit of Thanksgiving and extend it throughout the year.

Be a good to your community and the environment.?Cherish your parents.?Say hello to strangers, and even better, chat them up.?Learn the names of the staff at stores you regularly frequent.?Share with friends how much they mean to you.?Channel in your daily life the tune from the 80s by Mike and the Mechanics – “Say it Loud, Say it Clear” in The Living Years.

The essence of doing good was put best by The Wizard of Oz in his heartfelt chat with the Tin Man about philanthropists. ?“Back where I come from there are men who do nothing all day but good deeds.?They are called phila...er, phila...er, yes, er, good deed doers.”?

Why not spread a lot of good today, over the Thanksgiving weekend, throughout the holiday season, and across 2023.?It doesn’t even have to cost a cent. The physic return in invaluable.?You’ll be better for it.
