Being unstoppable in 2023

Now for those that know me well this is somewhat of oxymoron as I spent a week in Harrogate Hospital earlier this month, after not spending a night in one in living memory... clearly I am stoppable! I had hit a wall...better self care required for 2024. But having this time to reflect has been enormously powerful. Seeing the team step-up to support the business, feeling the love of friends and family has really channeled my focus and priorities.

As I reflect on 2023 it is no wonder I see so many a SaaS business leader feeling the pressure. As a SaaS leader in AI selling to SaaS businesses 2023 has thrown a great deal of challenges and opportunities our way at Panintelligence ..our customers and addressable market have faced uncertain funding conditions with a push to profitability and reducing burn rates creating financial friction. This inevitably has put pressure on churn. At the same time the AI hype cycle kicked off in anger propelling our business into new partnerships and places like the AI Summit with Number 10 inviting me to ask a question of Elon Musk.

But in all this volatility our mission as a business was consistent delivery of growth and wow have the Panintelligece team delivered against this challenging backdrop. We have welcomed 39 new customers, delivered 50% growth from our SaaS business and over 20% YOY revenue growth. We have added 9 new members to the team, received 17 G2 Awards, won DataIQ BI Vendor of the year and been listed in numerous notable tech lists in 2023. Our team has delivered a new release every month on time and launched some amazing new product enhancements further securing our place as a leader in the embedded analytics space. Our push into Causal AI is gaining momentum as we aim to lead the away on explainable, pragmatic AI. Our industry report revealing 76% of SaaS vendors are actively embedding AI in their platforms making AI accessible for all.

We have a fiercely community engaged team with over 200 hours volunteered to local schools to support with inspiring the next generation of young people into digital careers through the Ahead Partnership. We have raised thousands of pounds for Candlelighters Trust on fun and crazy team activities and delivered 3 No Code Lab Hacks on Net Zero, Tech 4 Good and Health with over 100 people hacking at Investor Ladder Climb 23 conference.

My team have also been incredibly supportive as I pursue a personal mission to enable the next generation of female founders in Tech, with my role in the Government Task Force for Women Led High Growth enterprise . This has led to piloting a national initiative in Leeds with a new Female Founders Networks supported by Lloyds Banking Group and Angel Investments through Ada Ventures . I truly believe we need diverse teams building the future economy in AI and Technology to ensure everyone benefits from innovation. With only 2% of venture funding going to female founded teams much needs to change.

But my last reflection on 2023 is about how we as leaders deal with the pressure cooker of an accumulation of 4 years in a volatile business environment. I only feel now that impact of the pandemic and navigating the pressure of the last 4 years has really hit home. People always used to say to me "I don't know how you do it all" the truth is I don't do it all. I am really fortunate to have the support of 3 amazing leaders alongside me, we have walked this path together, with absolute belief and trust in each other. Without them I am sure I would have hit a wall much sooner. I cannot express the importance of being part of a team for your mental and physical health. So thank you Ken Miller , Charlotte Bailey , Phil Normington as a team we are unstoppable.
