Being Unreasonable

Being Unreasonable

Society isn’t virtuous or moral anymore. Sheeple are following the herd, coaxed by the miseducation orchestrated by mainstream media.

Values and culture are rotting big time as ugly things are normalized all around us.

As society gets corrupted and it is considered reasonable to commit bad deeds, being unreasonable is the new rebellion.

Be unreasonable. Getting up when you're tired is not "reasonable." Acting in spite of fear is not "reasonable." Doing what a few do is not "reasonable." Creating when you least feel like it is not "reasonable." Supporting someone when you're sad is not "reasonable." Be unreasonable.

In a world where people are commercial, selfish, and distracted, being reasonable may not be enough to achieve your goals and dreams. You may have to be unreasonable, in the sense of challenging the status quo, setting higher expectations, and demanding more from yourself and others. Being?unreasonable?can help you stand out from the crowd, create value, and make a difference.

But what does it mean to be unreasonable? And how can you do it without alienating people or compromising your integrity? Here are some tips based on the insights of some of the most unreasonably successful people in history.

1. Have a transforming experience

According to Richard Koch, author of Unreasonable Success and How to Achieve It, nearly all unreasonably successful people had at least one unusual experience that prepared them for their achievements. They were transformed by an event or episode that made a deep impression on them and equipped them with unusual insight, knowledge, or convictions.

For example, Margaret Thatcher was transformed by the Falklands War, which boosted her confidence and popularity as a leader. Steve Jobs was transformed by his trip to India, where he learned about spirituality and simplicity. Oprah Winfrey was transformed by her childhood abuse, which made her empathetic and resilient.

You may not be able to engineer a transforming experience for yourself, but you can position yourself in the slipstream of events where the right kind of transforming experience is most likely. You can also learn from other people's transforming experiences and apply their lessons to your own situation.

2. Have a strong belief system

Being unreasonable also requires having a strong belief system that guides your actions and decisions. You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve and why it matters. You need to have a set of values that define your character and behavior. You need to have a sense of purpose that motivates you to overcome obstacles and persevere.

Having a strong belief system can help you think big, be creative, and be unreasonably demanding of yourself and others. It can also help you attract like-minded people who share your vision and support your cause. However, having a strong belief system does not mean being dogmatic or inflexible. You should be open to feedback, learning, and adaptation as you pursue your unreasonable goals.

3. Be authentic and original

Another key aspect of being unreasonable is being authentic and original. You should not try to fit in or conform to the expectations of others. You should not copy or imitate what others are doing. You should not compromise your identity or integrity for the sake of popularity or profit.

Being authentic and original means being true to yourself and expressing your unique voice and perspective. It means being bold and daring to challenge the norms and conventions of your industry or society. It means being innovative and creating something new and valuable that solves a problem or meets a need.

Being authentic and original can help you differentiate yourself from the competition, create loyal fans and customers, and make a lasting impact. However, being authentic and original does not mean being arrogant or disrespectful. You should be humble and respectful of others' opinions and contributions. You should also be willing to collaborate and cooperate with others who can complement your strengths and weaknesses.

Conclusion

Being unreasonable is not a negative trait or a flaw. It is a positive strategy that can help you achieve extraordinary results in modern society. When everyone’s going left, surprise them by going right. Doing what everyone else is doing does not mean you are doing something right, it only means you are following the crowd, like a sheep. Don’t be a sheep. Be a lion. Be a Superhero. Go your own way.

Vikram

Good one, Vikram. The education ecosystem, as a whole, is designed against nourishing an individual's talent and is 'for' mass production, creating a steady pipeline for students to make a beeline to the existing career paths. Hopefully, the current lot will move towards an 'explorative' education and discover career paths on their own. Cheers!
