Being a Solution

Are you a problem or are you a solution?

I know, I know, cutting to the chase here.

But really think about this, reflect on this year, think about even last week at work or this nearly gone weekend with your family.

How are you showing up? What are you bringing to the table? What energy are you enrolling people in?

I am learning more and more that we all can be both (problem and solution) in many if not majority of life situations. We might complain and express frustration, we might gossip and point fingers at someone’s missteps. We also could offer some advice, make a powerful request, or state a non-negotiable demand.

We either can stay in a victim’s mind and hopelessness about our life where we conveniently do nothing about it and as a result, reinforcing our reality OR we can have an opportunity to shift to owning our human experience.

If you see problems or something that bothers you, you have a gift. You have awareness, you have a vision for the project or relationship to go differently. Don’t stop there. Take a step. I know this part might be hard. It might even take courage and risk-taking. But you will be so glad you did.

Also, a serenity prayer has been a guidance for me in the last 15 years. It has been supporting me to simplify, to reduce internal drama and to let go unnecessary emotional build-up. Give it a try.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

What are 3 places you might be a solution? I dare you to be a gift to yourself, aa asset to your team and a contribution to your community.
