IS BEING SHORT REALLY CUTE?

IS BEING SHORT REALLY CUTE?

This picture was taken when we had a trip where I found this mirror with no use to me. That provoked me once again to rewind that little struggle happening every day. Being a 5-foot ?adequate height girl, I realize it is still the lower limit of the class of normal height.?

I have no big dreams... maybe I don’t want to drown in a waterfall where everyone else can stand peacefully, I never want to feel like jumping from a bus because the steps are placed higher, and I don’t want to cling to someone's shoulder when impossible to hold the hangers in bus, maybe I don’t want to get lost in a crowd as unrecognized, also I don’t want to feel pain in the neck for looking my best friend, maybe I don’t want to put a stool in the kitchen so that I can take powders in the shelf as my own, I don’t want to feel pain at my hand while eating in certain restaurants, I seriously don’t want to request to the one who sits Infront of me in the theatre to bent down since I can’t see anything.

I know you might be enjoying seeing shorter people than you and you might feel all this as cute. But let me tell you, for you it’s just slapstick entertainment where we feel indifferent to normal people. Behind the facade of supposed cuteness lies a daily battle that many fail to comprehend.

We are in a constant effort to adapt to a world seemingly built for taller counterparts! It's not about seeking special privileges; it's about yearning for the same level of accessibility that others effortlessly enjoy. It's not about wanting to be taller than I am; it's about wanting the world to see beyond height and acknowledge the challenges faced by those who seem shorter. ?

The issue goes beyond mere inconvenience; it touches upon the very essence of inclusivity in our environment. Why should anyone feel excluded or disadvantaged because of their height? One solution lies in reimagining the layout of public spaces. Adjusting the height of mirrors, lowering washroom surfaces, or even integrating adjustable features can transform these spaces into places of inclusivity.

Still, we agree with you...we are even cuter than you!
