Being Secure Does Not Always Mean Cumbersome
I am constantly fascinated by the highly specialized focus of some publications…like one I have been reading called Chief Privacy Officer magazine…very interesting. One particular article highlighted the high number of cyber security incidences that organizations had experienced during the pandemic. This topic isn’t new to us here at Evizone. In fact, if you check out our previously posted articles, we flagged the challenges that organizations would face during the transition to Work From Home (WFH).
The prevalence of WFH as a consequence of using personal devices when working from home created a whole new level risk of exposure for businesses around the world. In-house hardware has always helped business manage it and data transfers. But as we moved into the heavier months of the Pandemic, companies started to realize that health risks of staff greatly outweighed their data risks, and this led to workers splicing their personal data with their highly sensitive working data. What this meant was that malware and other types of malicious probing finally had a backdoor into company secrets that IT had no way of securing.
The CPO article highlights a number of issues that organizations have had to mitigate throughout the past year…that could have easily been solved through the use of our ESM system. While reliance on email and casual use of personal devices creates a larger risk for organizations, it seems universally accepted that two aspects of professional life will need to change as we usher in this new era of hybrid working. The first change will need to be around working habits and security practices while at home, and the second will potentially be more expensive for business and that would be hardware provisioning.
The ESM (Evizone Secured Messaging) experience really aims at solving the security and organizational issues that companies are learning to adjust to today. Through the use of ESM companies can not only optimize efficiency but also make sure that intellectual property remains internal. None of the privileged documents or information will ever circulate through email but instead will reside in the Evizone Messaging workspace where colleagues can collaborate and speak in real time to get important tasks accomplished.
One thing that is becoming blaringly apparent is that the professional working landscape is changing and now is the time to adopt the best and most effective practices.
