On Being Rich

                                                          ON BEING RICH

I happened to  read a bunch of comments on Facebook the other day…..Many of them denigrated “rich people”.........Many told of “having enough”; of not needing more of what they already had…..they were already “happy”....they were “satisfied”.......This really bothered me!!! …….It seems to me that so many people have the concept of “financial abundance” all wrong.  To me, it’s about a different way of looking at being rich and having abundance…...One doesn’t necessarily “need” a million dollar house or a cruise or a vacation around the world….It’s not that I’m against these things but you have to think the concept of abundance through…...When you say you have “enough” and are already happy, you are ONLY thinking of yourself...What about your next door neighbor who might have just lost their job and don’t know where the money will come from to feed the kids…..What about the homeless person begging for a quarter???? What about……..others????? If you were to seek financial abundance, not only for yourself, but to do good for someone in the world, would you say no and turn it down because you already had “enough”......There are sooooo many others that DON’T have enough…...Who’s going to help them? What about the people you don’t see, sick in bed in their houses, not being able to afford medicine? Or their doctor bills? What about the widow or widower who has no family to turn to?......I happen to know that there are many in this position…..Who will help them? Social service agencies??? Maybe, but at a bare minimum since there are so many to help. Besides, have you ever tried finding a particular social service agency?.....Not only is it time consuming when you need to eat or sleep right away, but there is lots and lots of paperwork to go thru…...It’s easy to ignore the people you don’t see and “pretend” that everything is fine and your own life is going so well…..BUT, everything is NOT fine…...People need help…..That’s why I want to tell you that it’s OK to have more “riches”; more abundance…...more money!!! Why?......Because the Greatest Thing A Person Can Do In Life Is To Be In Service To Humanity; in some small way…….If you have some extra money/wealth, you can do some extra good…..If you have a lot of extra money, you can do a lot of extra good in the world…...Expand your vision…..Life isn’t about YOU…...or ME…...It’s about (US)......The expression “How may I help you” is heard often…….but “what if” we all thought this way??? …………...How May I Help You??? So…..go ahead; strive for riches!!! It’s ok…...Just think how much extra good you can do in the world in all the small ways, as you live your daily lives…….So, go ahead; strive to be rich; strive to do good in the world!!! ………...We need to all recognize that We Are All In Service To Humanity…….
