Looking for a new job or positioning yourself for that internal promotion can be daunting and frustrating. Truthfully, any job search comes with its ups and downs. For you, this is a lesson in resiliency and determination.
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve applied to 10 jobs or 1,000. You only need one job offer that is the right fit to change your career.
However, it’s easy to be focused on yourself during these times, and I want to offer that taking time to give to others will help you achieve your goals more quickly.
“Lift While I Climb†is one of Marisa Speranzi ’s favorite sayings.
Before Marisa landed her current job, her career path was anything but linear. She started a job that wasn’t the right fit and knew something needed to change. During the seven months it took her to find her current position, Marisa doubled down on giving to others.
·?????She substantially grew her network on LinkedIn.
·?????She networked with anyone she met to see how she could help them before asking for what she needed.
·?????She connected people by always asking who was a great connection for them.
And while she lifted others as she climbed to her next advancement opportunity, here are a few things she gained.
·?????For every new person she invited into her network, she became a part of their network. This meant every time she posted or shared something on LinkedIn, her reach was greater.
·?????She grew her network across dozens of industries and backgrounds, extending her reach beyond her current scope and network.
·?????She perfected how to tell her story from a place of value and service that got more people interested in who she is and what she does.
·?????And much more
