Being Relevant
I had the most interesting conversation today on keeping ourselves relevant. We can debate about whether we are performing or have better skillsets than others, however, if you are not relevant to the future of an organisation, then it is high time that you either get on with the program or you will be left behind or out.
Sometimes we invest so much of our time on 'On the Job' and professional development to remain valuable with the current business demands, yet we forget that these will quickly be obsolete in the next 3-5 years.
My personal focus now is to change the views of those around me (as well as change my own outlook on this) to aggressively be on this level of commitment. The reality is that we know, we somehow act on this but it is not yet a cultural focus of the everyday smaller teams that we are part of.
There you go, more on transformational leadership. I will probably write a Part2 to this topic to keep you updated on how this can be achieved in a simple yet in a scalable manner.

5 年Great post Tanya and totally agree. Best to keep relevant in this role then in any to come. At the same time making it part of culture automates it so that it isn't lost sight of.
