Being relentless

Being relentless

by Richard Scott and ChatGPT

?

I caught up with a long-time tech friend last week and we were discussing a mutual friend whos' flame is always burning bright, he has been consistently very successful across multiple roles for 20 years - the trait that came to mind was relentless.

?

I was chatting with one of my managers about one of our top performers again the word that presented was relentless.

?

Being relentless in your working life is key trait I would link to consistent success.

?

Being relentless means to be persistent, determined, and unwavering in the pursuit of a goal or objective, despite facing obstacles, setbacks, or challenges. It involves a strong commitment to achieving success and a refusal to give up or be discouraged by difficulties along the way.

Being relentless often requires resilience, perseverance, and a willingness to adapt and overcome obstacles to ultimately achieve one's desired outcome.

??

Being relentless is a choice.?

?

Being relentless in sales means maintaining a persistent and determined approach to achieving sales goals despite facing rejection, objections, or other challenges. In the context of sales, being relentless involves:

?

1.???? Persistence: Continuing to reach out to potential clients or customers even after facing initial rejection or obstacles.

2.???? Determination: Having a strong resolve to meet or exceed sales targets, regardless of setbacks or difficulties encountered.

3.???? Resilience: Bouncing back from rejections and setbacks, learning from them, and using them as opportunities to improve and refine sales strategies.

4.???? Adaptability: Being flexible and willing to adjust sales techniques or approaches based on feedback and changing market conditions.

5.???? Focus: Staying laser-focused on the end goal and maintaining motivation and enthusiasm throughout the sales process.

?

Overall, being relentless in sales or other walks of life means never giving up, constantly striving for improvement, and doing whatever it takes to achieve success in sales.

?

As some Instagram post I saw recently stated, ‘we learn nothing from success, only from failure’ – failing quickly, learning, adjusting and mindset of ‘keep going’ will support you in being relentless.

Nice article Richard! There is lots of research that backs up your assertions around relentless/grit too, a more recent one from 2020 found that: "higher levels of grit are associated with higher educational attainment, greater school and workplace performance, a healthier lifestyle, better life satisfaction, more positive affect and less negative affect, and lower risks of mental disorders and problematic behaviors" Grit is one of the traits with the highest correlation to success. And like everything it's a muscle, the more you flex it, the stronger it gets.
