Being The Observer
???? People have asked me what is it like to be the OBSERVER?
In this context it's more than just watching something...it's seeing without seeing...it listening without a filter ( judgement or assessment).
You are no longer "in" a conversation, you "are" the conversation.
You are no longer "in" a room, you "are" the room.
The closest thing I can describe what it's like. Is when you are driving a car, and you and the car are one.
There is no asking yourself, did I turn the engine on, did I put it drive, did I put my seat-belt on...etc. They just happen automatically. This is the first step.
The second step is to right now watch yourself driving the car (DO NOT TRY THIS WHILE DRIVING). You are observing you driving without judgement, you can see everything around you for miles. You probably just did it, even if it was for a second or two.
It's peaceful, it's quite and you and the other drivers around you are just one, going in the same direction.
Now someone cuts you off in the traffic, and because you are one with the other drivers it's not a problem. As the observer, you may notice that it being interesting...like ants going up & down a tree. Interesting...I wonder where they're going.
This is not something that most people can do over night, and it does take practice.
Try with 2-3 minutes everyday in the morning, before you leave for where ever you are going.
Two times in my life I was in a car accident as the driver and both times I became the observer. No panic, just observing and how to steer clear of injury.
This may seem a little woo woo to you, but I promise if you're looking for more peace, happiness and tranquility this is a great place to start.??
