On Being a Modern-Day Gentleman
It’s no question we live in a digital—always-in-front-of-a-screen—smartphone obsessed society.
And with the dating apps craze more prevalent than ever, it has both men and especially women questioning, “where have all the gentleman gone?”
Given the name of this blog, I should probably address my take on being a gentleman.
First off, what is a gentleman?
According to the dictionary:

a chivalrous, courteous, or honorable man.
“he behaved like a perfect gentleman”

There’s lots of history on what it means to be a gentleman.
It used to be defined by a man’s style of dress. Some would say it’s about chivalry; opening doors for a lady or picking up the tab on a date.
Today it means so much more.
Being a modern-day gentleman is about more than dressing the part. And it’s about more than impressing the woman you’re courting.
It’s about compassion and treating others with respect. It’s about doing the little things to make the lives of the people around you easier.

He has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and education, but an even greater thirst to create and communicate the things he has learned to contribute to a greater good. This is what defines him.
The great thing is that by practicing regularly, it becomes a part of who he is.
