Being how we were in 2019, feels like the new normal

This week has been special as I feel energized. Reason being - we had a couple of ‘physical’ events. And, I must say it was a refreshing feeling to see colleagues come together, leaving the fear and resistance of the virus behind us. With the easing of norms around masks and social gatherings across the country, people have started resuming life as they knew in 2019. Honestly, it was difficult to envision resumption to what we thought of as ‘normal’ earlier even few months ago. But, with cautious optimistic steps we have yet again proven our resilience. During these last two events - townhall and strategy-meet, we deliberated upon the next frontier for growth Panasonic in India. The discussion revolved around innovation, thought-leadership, digitization, culture and ESG (Environmental, social and corporate governance) agenda, setting the tone for FY’23 and beyond.

I thoroughly enjoyed, engaging with everyone to share and exchange views on the various aspects of business. I believe events like townhalls, strategy meets can only help accentuate the collective wisdom and output is even better when in-person. We also hosted the Annual Excellence awards to recognize exemplary business performance and alignment to the profitable growth agenda.

While writing this blog, it made me think about the last two years, which seemed like a leaf from another book altogether. People were scared to step out, roads were deserted, social gatherings were banned and what not! But, the optimist in me believes that knowingly or, unknowingly pandemic has made us introspect only to be the better version of our self. Be it from an individual level or, an organizational level every action of ours is aligned towards our emotional and physical well-being. Whether it is about sanitizing, masking-up, exercising or, simply eating right, the pandemic has been a sobering learning experience for all.

While wearing masks in public places is no longer a mandate but for our own safety we should definitely have our masks-on especially, in close proximity meetings or crowded public spaces. Washing hands, sanitizing the surfaces, usage of smart, healthy appliances to name a few, anyway have multiple benefits. Let us try and make them a part of our daily rituals. I have realized that it is completely fine to resume normalcy but, it is equally important to be mindful of your well-being. For some people, it might be difficult, or take a little time, but that’s okay as we all take time to adjust and adapt to newer conditions. With the situation gradually reaching normalcy, the opportunities for all are abundant and, we must leverage them to its fullest.?
