It is a proven fact that human beings are 99.99999% energy and only 0.000001% matter. Hence, the more we are able to be in a highly energetic state, the more we are alive.
?It is believed that in every human endeavor, the one with the highest energy wins. It is a known fact that the higher your energy, the higher your effectiveness and success in life. It is said that highest energy always wins. ?
Human beings have infinite potential, but in actuality only a small percentage of the potential is expressed due to self-created barriers. The barriers are in the form of limited beliefs, unfounded fears, negative thinking, and bent of mind. The barriers are nothing but blockers of energy, which diminishes the power of the human being.
?The word “enthusiasm” is derived from a Latin and Greek word that implies being in touch and in alignment with the God within. Enthusiasm is an inside out phenomena. An enthusiastic person emanates a different level of aura and presence. Enthusiasm is highly contagious and manifests in the form of a higher level of being. It is a known fact that the body and mind are interconnected, and they influence each other immensely.
?The ability to focus our mind on positive thoughts consciously can translate into a positive body state. Here the technology of affirmations is hugely beneficial to train the mind. Affirmations are a technology of loudly and intently saying positive statements repeatedly. When this is done repeatedly with deep intention and conviction, it can program the subconscious brain, which is the root of all our actions and behaviors.
?Similarly, if an individual is physically active and demonstrates excited gestures, movements, and actions, he induces the release of energy and positively impacts the mind as well. Scientific reasoning for this is due to the fact that our central nervous system is unable to decipher whether we are actually feeling an emotion or just pretending. Hence, when you mimic laughter moments, our central nervous system induces the secretion of happy hormones like dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins, and serotonin into our bloodstream. This in turn causes the sensation of lightness, aliveness, and a surge of energy, making us feel more enthusiastic. This is why laughter therapy is gaining ground and is widely practiced.
?I also believe that higher enthusiasm can be realized by being present. If we consciously practice and increase our awareness, acknowledgement, and appreciation of every moment,??this would enable us to be more sensitive to our body sensations, feelings, and emotions, and we will have the ability to change from a lower energy state to a higher one. It is totally in our control and at our discretion. A higher energy state is also called a beautiful state, a result of focus and harboring positive thought, feelings, and emotions; the lower energy state is called the suffering state, a result of negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions.?
In summation, I would say that being enthusiastic means being in a beautiful state of mind, body, and spirit, enabling a human being to truly enjoy the gift of human life.
?In the field of selling, being enthusiastic is a great plus point. In fact, selling is defined as the transfer of one’s energy and enthusiasm for one’s products and services to your customers. Hence, a master salesperson needs to consciously be present to one’s own energy state and endeavor to keep oneself in a high energy state to keep one’s selling efficiency and?effectiveness at a high level.
?In sales, one common advice is to never negate your prospective customers’ statements. Always respond by saying that you understand their viewpoint and state your point of view. In the entire conversation, an effective salesperson would never allow the interaction to move towards negative emotions and low energy.
?It is a proven fact that the outcome of a sales interaction would be positive if we kept the energy high and the emotions positive and upbeat. Delving deeper into enthusiasm, which is a manifestation of energy, is a factor of one’s mindset, the nutrition you feed your body, the movement and exercise you practice, and the resting and recovery routines that you have in your lifestyle.
Talking about mindset, every thought is an energy and the more you keep your thoughts positive, the more your energy will be positive. We human beings have about 50,000 thoughts in a day. Out of this, 90% of the thoughts are negative and repetitive, and only 10% are positive. At the same time, at any given point in time, you can have only one thought, and it is absolutely your choice to choose that thought. Unfortunately, as we have not been trained in mindset management, we have no control over our thoughts. Instead of having and choosing thoughts, in actuality, thoughts dominate us and therefore we are prone to mood swings, distractions, lack of concentration, and inconsistency. The technology of meditation discovered by the ancient sages in the great Indian civilization is the most potent tool for thought leadership albeit energy leadership to life leadership. This is the correlation between a positive mindset and positive energy and enthusiasm.?
The next factor is nutrition. It is said that we are what we eat. The food that we consume determines whether we would be energetic or lethargic. The raw uncooked foods, fruits, and vegetables are a source of high energy of prana, and if one’s diet is dominated by such pranic food, automatically one would be more energetic. Foods that are spicy, deep fried, and non-vegetarian, even though tasty, actually do not give you energy. They actually deplete your body of energy. Nutrition has a direct impact on the energy level of individuals.
?The third aspect is movement and exercise. The body is the most sophisticated and magnificent machine. The human body cannot take care of itself. One needs to exercise this body to keep the musculoskeletal system in order. There is a wise saying which states that if you take care of the human body for one hour a day, it will take care of you for the remaining 23 hours.
?Hence, a regular proper exercise routine is very important. Also, your body posture has a direct bearing on how you feel in addition to the energy level. Keeping your spinal cord straight and your neck held in a high position where you keep your sternum up gives you a sense of control and higher spirit and energy. Conscious practice of good posture movements and exercise are vital for maintaining a high energy state.
?The last factor affecting energy level is the resting mechanism that you practice in your lifestyle. A minimum of seven hours of sound sleep is mandatory to keep the body healthy and energetic. Restful sleep helps the body to recover. Other techniques like meditation, being in silence in nature, going on regular vacations, getting body massages, etc. can help the body keep a high energy state.
?In summary, consciously working on one’s mindset, nutrition, movement, and recovery can go a long way in keeping one’s energy and the consequent enthusiasm level high to make one a high-performance individual. A living example of a person who exhibits the trait of enthusiasm is Mr. Sridhar Sampath. Mr. Sridhar Sampath, my close friend and a fellow Miltonian, is from Chennai, India. Sridhar, an IITan from Delhi and IIM, Ahmedabad, is one of the leading business consultants from Chennai who helps companies to scale to new levels of growth in revenue and profitability. I have worked with him on various MILT projects as a team member in various social projects, organizing and participating in annual MILT conventions for more than a decade.?

Sridhar is always totally involved, energetically participative, and committed in all situations and occasions. His energy is palpable and evident. In 2015, he was made to head a personality empowerment training program as a fundraising program for MILT social projects. The target was to raise funds for an MILT residential school at Simulta in Bihar. The gross revenue targeted was Rs.10 Lakhs. ?
Incidentally, MILT is a community of like-minded, socially conscious individuals who are progressive and growth oriented, and who have undergone a powerful leadership training program under the legendary trainer and spiritual master, Mr. Aporesh Acharya. The participants who have successfully completed the seven-week course go on to join the alumna who, apart from helping the participants to keep in touch with the leadership technology, also raise funds for various social projects aimed at uplifting the underprivileged members of the society. MILT fraternity can be found in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, spreading leadership and empowerment technology all around.
?The Chennai chapter which Sridhar belongs to had tried on two separate occasions to raise funds by conducting a personality empowerment training program and failed both times because they were unable to enroll the minimum number of participants.
?I personally observed the energy, enthusiasm, positivity, and the peak energetic state that Sridhar put into organizing the project. The end result was registration started pouring in, and on the appointed day, we had a full house and the funds forecasted for the planned social projects were generated.
?Sridhar is an embodiment of what having enthusiasm and peak energy state can help achieve in one’s life.
