Being a Disruptor in Disruptive Times
Here is a quick story about that one time I decided to not do what I normally would do.
Instead, I found a voice I could listen to. I then suddenly found myself taking actions that would have great potential to create thousands of jobs for people I personally knew and could help get to back to work in fields they love and are good at… and all that in the middle of a global pandemic… yikes, right?
Well, despite layoffs happening in many places. I noticed contact center professionals had skills that were about to go waisted. Matching the right contact center professional with the right organization is best served when everyone has a baseline of commonalities. Audience, Process and Product.
My two main market-based models have been designed and thoughtful of market conditions related to the Contact Center Workforce. The clarity at this moment has given, a laser-focused view of the right priorities and plans for execution.
The model is granting this wannabe entrepreneurial daydreamer, a clean and successful start out the gates doing something that needs to be done.
This is a fun story happening now. Amazing things are happening this very moment.
Personally, I have family connections of a lifetime being made, my children are safe despite close calls with tragedy and I have a wife who inspires me. In a pandemic, stepping up to the demands of her community by working with the school district, taking all the required classes week after week for the last year, through the final 6 months of my mother's life and months following in the wake of her passing... Daily, Bridget wakes up and moves closer to becoming the person she knows that she is and needs to be. She gambled on herself, and I took the bet too. She beat any, and all odds by getting the job. She now is planning daily how to best contribute to the world as an educator. Watching her actions take shape, I was reminded how the right circle of people, who encourage you to pursue the things best done by you. Whatever that looks like for you... or me?
Perhaps, it was time to find out?
After searching my career for keys takeaways, I found I had reviewed what I had done. What I was good at. Lastly, and finally, I asked what I had enjoyed. Adding this question was where my fear finally subsided.
See, I lost my job like many at the start of the pandemic. It was simply a response to market conditions. I understood this but also immediately thought about the questions based in fear. What kind of job can I get in the middle of a global pandemic? When markets and companies’ futures shake out.
Then I am inspired to start my own thing, something that will allow me to offer my strengths. My resume had become my business model. It works because the final step I took was to identify how the things I loved to do and do well all interconnect. I'm guessing anyone might think in my shoes at the time how hopeless I was feeling... but then I realized what themes came clear when I was building my services. So my overall approach from Can Do Can Teach LLC is to provide contact center consulting. That said, there is a specific demand happening right now in two key scenarios. I have built a model for each of these scenarios and packaged together with a clean set of services that delivers the workforce demands where hearts in seats are concerned. Performers from the top markets have clear projections regarding the workforce needed to meet market demands.
Well, I am proud to announce that since launching my business CanDoCanTeach.com, amazing outcomes are allowing me to work towards putting 1000+ people back to work leveraging their skills by me leveraging mine for two separate clients in two separate markets.
Should we never have a new normal, then I rather recognize the ability to navigate what I believe to be an advanced stage of "Darwin's Market".
The concept of stability being challenged in these conditions simply has two great impacts.
Innovation and agility (Plan and ability to execute).
What I can contribute to these demands is the workforce which enables Agility as an outcome.
Using my Can Do Can Teach LLC, Hearts in Seats Model, I am working towards putting more than 1000 Contact Center Professionals back to work for two companies in two industry markets with one approach.
My goal is to deliver 100,000 Hearts in Seats, Professionals back to the workforce by the end of my first Post-COVID year.
If there is competition interested in disrupting the Contact Center Consulting and/or Recruiting Market....
Come at me!
Please.
There are almost 18 million unemployed people. I would love to put them all back to work.
I am launching a platform that will be the garage and tool bench for Contact Center Professionals.
The court remains the same... yes. continue leveraging LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and with one's own website and digital presence.
The space I am creating will be the workbench and toolbelt professional profiles reside. My first wheelhouse is for contact centers. I am building network concepts to bring in other workforces for mass hire results for any top performer in any top market. This network will be a safe place to relate by profile, audience knowledge, processes by industry, and industry product standards. Skills can by further matched by member profile contribution. A foundation of trust and good intentions of putting people back to work is the ultimate motivation of this endeavor.
Basically, I'm saying if you really want to know the feeling I get when I think about this opportunity... It ranges from humble gratitude to cool like Uncle Jesse, to the best place... Feeling as motivated as the Blues Brothers~
Elwood Blues: "It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark and we’re wearing sunglasses."
Jake Blues: "Hit it!"
I need competition. We need me to have competition. That' why I am launching a platform that I will use to master this solution. What is most needed is having the skill set that delivers the demands of our current markets that are showing unique outcomes.
Some are a continuation of positive trends prior to COVID-19 hitting the market. that will be the required win for the best of the best to be sustained.
Some are the result of market pivots and or new markets emerging altogether.
Many of these changes adjusting to minimizing face to face interaction will have a sustained demand as it is my anticipation that there will never be a full return to the office space again.
Contact Center Professionals are going to be available... matching them with the RIGHT leading performer is the goal. I would love to see 100,000 in a year. I can do this with the right people.
My future investments will also be focused on providing the workspace that provides a clean remote co-share space. Mixed space for 'permanent residents' and common shared space. We have a cleaning service and touchless technology when available. Amenities to allow small socially distanced meetings, mixers, and general community space in the real-world space replicated on the digital platform launching soon.
I have the potential to build a strong team and that is how I will achieve my goal of 100,000 jobs for professionals in contact-center based gigs, now remote and available at record levels. There are 18 Million unemployed... so there is plenty of work to do.
I have a platform launching soon, so you can use mine to start if you are interested. I am putting professionals back to work by matching them with the companies growing in these crazy times and need the skills the recently unemployed have.
We cannot save all the companies in all the markets... but we can help the strongest companies in the strongest markets.
Stick to our values and our focus on fair deals...
and there will be no loss. Only people getting back to work.
If this journey sounds interesting to you, keep an eye on me and I'll show ya in real-time how making a positive difference is gonna pay off in the end.
There can only be a happy end to this story, so I'm honored to be able to tell it.
This is my summertime moment and the Great One has spoken to me.
Stay tuned.
There are more questions to answer and my mentors are keeping me accountable to their expectations.

4 年I'd work for you and this cause :) you have been a constant positive, professional influence for me, since 2008. During and after my 6 years at GoDaddy. You have never said you're too busy. Never ignored an outreach. And lived your values by being an example of what an honest hustle looks like. I praise you, Casey O'Connor, and am grateful that you and your family thrived after the accident on your way to Iowa. **If you're reading this and you have not met Casey, say "hello", to meet an authentic and creatively intelligent mentor.
