As a coach and mentor of mortgage brokers, something we discuss regularly is about how important on going education is to the development of each individual.

Building an on going program of continued education is vital to the success of every broker and this has never been more important than it is in todays world.

Spending some time each week, developing your knowledge, builds confidence and makes the broker much more effective in their day to day activities.

So here are a couple of thoughts for you to consider

• How well do you know your aggregator software?
• Are you building a solid knowledge of lender policy?
• Are you aware of how best to package and document a loan in respect of the new BID requirements?
• Are you aware that your aggregator and your industry bodies all have webinars that are available for you to view and learn from?

Best practice would be to take some time EACH week to educate yourself. Making this a regular part of your life as a broker will make a massive difference
