The Being Brunel Museum at SS Great Britain
To say that we were over the moon at being asked to do this prestigious project is an understatement. It is not every day that you get commissioned to fabricate hand painted signs to reflect a very specific period of 1840-1905.
We were asked to design and fabricate boards to honor all of those individuals, companies and organisations who donated to the trust and made the amazing new museum possible.
The project demanded a huge amount of research into the signs from the given period, and Michelle's Great-Grandfathers book from 1895 came in very useful!
Eric, took charge of the project and did us proud :-)
All of the boards had to give the impression that they were from the late 1800's and look worn and a little battered. This is exactly the kind of project that we love. Anything which challenges us is always so rewarding.
In total we manufactured and lovingly hand painted a total of six boards. We also did a spot if signwriting on site.
Here's what the client had to say:
"Hi Eric,
I just wanted to say again thank you so much for all your patience and work on the acknowledgement signs for the new museum.
We had our VIP launch last night and we had really wonderful feedback about the quality and style of the signs.
Best Wishes
Natalie
