BEING AUTHENTIC

Being authentic is a very powerful way of being wherein an authentic person exhibits congruence between what he thinks, says, and does. His thoughts, words and actions are in alignment. This is what gives him a lot of power, freedom, peace, and full self-expression.

An authentic person is always straight in communication and is prepared to take what he gets. He gives up force and manipulation as a way of producing results. This is the reason for his power in any situation. He is a personification of boldness, and he elicits admiration for this quality.

    An authentic person is fearless as he has nothing to hide. There are no internal skirmishes, which is a big drain of energy. This is the secret of the full self-expression, freedom, and peaceful presence of an authentic person.

  An authentic person avoids any deception, faking, or willful distortion of facts. He is powerful in all situations even when he commits mistakes. An authentic person admits his mistakes, so his chances to learn and improve from his mistakes are enormous.

 The positive fallout of the quality of authenticity is the element of conviction that he carries. As an authentic person’s thoughts, words and actions are in alignment, there is the element of conviction and value in all that he says and does. This invariably makes his actions more effective and impactful. An authentic person does not believe in so-called compromise. For him, compromising on values is a dirty word. This is what makes him trustworthy, reliable, and dependable.

 In the selling profession, the element of authenticity carries a big premium. When a customer places an order with a salesperson, he is trusting and believing in the salesperson to deliver what is promised.

 In a sales transaction, it is the customer who is taking a bigger risk of trusting the salesperson and his organization to deliver what was promised. An authentic salesperson would always under-promise and over-deliver. He would openly present and discuss the pros and cons of the products and services that he is selling. He is in the business of building relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and mutual benefits.

 An authentic salesperson would refuse to sell his product if he believes that it would not fulfill and solve the needs, desires, and problems of the prospect. An authentic salesperson believes in the principle that if my product is of no value to you, then your money is of no value to me.

 In a sale, if your customer perceives you to be an authentic person and considers your company an authentic, genuine entity, it is a huge competitive advantage. This assists a company to create a loyal and long-term customer, which is a huge asset in any business.

 In India, the business group TATA has an image of being an authentic and genuine group that will not cheat, shortchange, or dupe you. They will deliver what they promise.

 The person who is a personification of authenticity is my friend, Mr. Rituraj Gupta, the former president of Goregaon Sports Club and the nominated chairperson of a premier global plastic industry exhibition, Plastivision 2020.

 Rituraj Gupta is a successful first-generation entrepreneur who runs a 200-million-rupee turnover company, Tripack, involved in the manufacturing and marketing of multilayer poly film for the milk industry. Tripack is among the top five in this industry segment,having a reputation for quality and dependability. His customers include companies like AMUL, Aarey, Mahananda, Gokul, and SARAS Diaries. Most of these prestigious clients have been loyal customers of Tripack for more than a decade. The reason for these prestigious customers’ continued loyalty is Mr. Rituraj Gupta’s authentic, transparent, and honest dealings.

 I have personally seen and experienced Mr. Rituraj Gupta’s selflessness and authenticity in every responsibility he is given, especially in Goregaon Sports Club (GSC). He has been an active management committee member, holding various responsibilities like chairman, honorable secretary, secretary in charge of outdoorgames, treasurer, etc., and it would not be an exaggeration to say that he has made immense contribution to making GSC one of the premium clubs in India.
