Being 20 and having fun

I met Julius Rodriguez three times. The first one in July 2011, at a jazz party on a rooftop in Brooklyn when he, still a kid, was invited to sit at the drums by Sean Nowell. The second one in August 2019, at Mezzrow in Manhattan. This time he was at the piano, splendidly accompanying JD Walter on vocals and Ben Wolfe on bass. The third time in studio, a few days later in September 2019, when he sat for my camera. Although Julius is now almost 20, and he travels worldwide as one of the most-in-demand music artists in New York City, he still shows a very playful and grounded personality. Way to go, Julius!
