Crafting persuasive case studies to help business sell more using powerful stories from their own delighted clients
This is experienced electrician and seasoned networker Chris Pearce making light work of a presentation, the goal of which is to make it easier for your fellow networkers to find you great referrals.
Your fellow BNI members are not your sales term as such, they are more akin to your marketing team and given the right tools, they will promote your business and find the right opportunities - or referrals.
Typically this is done through weekly presentations at each meeting, where members are encouraged, and trained, to be specific on who they would like to be introduced to.
The typically 10-minute feature presentation is done on a rota and while some are tempted to deliver a family history, or demonstrate their ability to perform a task of the bleeding obvious variety, which you kinda took for granted they could accomplish.
In more than a decade of feature presentations, I can count on my fingers and a few toes, the 10 minutes that truly made it easier for me to find referrals, and Chris Pearce from Castle Electrical Services in Newbury, added himself to his list.
This slide pictured above lists everyday occurrences where an electrician would be needed and often for a relatively inexpensive job too. However, as Chris explained, a new fuse board has his sticker on it for future callouts, or an estate agent securing an Electrical Condition Report, now knows who to go to every time.

If you are making such a presentation to a networking group like BNI, or indeed at BNI, drill down into how you get your referrals and think about how you can be best introduced into more of these opportunities. Often the very stories you tell about these original referrals, are likely to be told be the members to get you more.
In the meantime, whether you have an old fashioned fuse board, are buying an electric car or plan on becoming an landlord, allow me to introduce you to a remarkable electrician I know...
