Behind the scenes: Unlocking Frictionless Circularity with the Battery Explorer

Enabling frictionless circularity within the battery industry is no small feat, but with Battery Explorer, Cling Systems is taking a crucial step forward. Go behind the scenes together with Valentin Loschinin and Rasmus Lindqvist from Cling Systems product team to learn about how strategic design and development to effectively eliminate friction have been incorporated in the launch of the Battery Explorer. Here's what they shared.

1. ?? How can data in the Battery Explorer reduce friction in circularity?

Rasmus explains, "Handling data for second-life batteries is tough because it's spread out across many different sources and actors. For buyers, this makes it difficult to see all the battery options clearly. The Battery Explorer helps by pulling all this information together in one place, making it easier for buyers to find what they need and streamline the process of recycling and reusing batteries."

2. ?? How do you foresee the Battery Explorer evolving in the next few months?

"We're planning to make the Battery Explorer even more user-friendly. The next big steps include integrating the demand side, along with the existing supply side, and enhancing the search and filtering features," Rasmus adds. "The aim is to make it easier for everyone to participate in recycling and reusing batteries, and data is key in this mission."

3. ?? What is a frictionless user experience of sourcing used EV batteries?

Valentin, our head of product design, provided further insights into the user experience of sourcing used EV batteries. "Used batteries differ greatly in variety and quality. It is tricky to identify a battery and understand what it is worth. To help buyers find suitable batteries, we designed Battery Explorer. It aggregates technical data with conditions of the batteries in stock on a single screen, allows easy access to specifications, and makes it easy to compare similar batteries. The Sourcing Request feature removes a barrier for buyers who plan long-term procurement of batteries with a set of concrete requirements."
